My work here includes design and functional specification for the overall user experience including key features such as E-Mail, Calendar, Search, Categorization, Reminders, Address Name Resolution, Out of Office Assistant and more.

Surface Design Group, LLC was formed in January 1999 as a graphic and interaction design firm specializing in the design of software and internet-based applications and environments. Surface was a self-funded limited liability company comprised of three principal partners and a small staff of experienced design and technology professionals. Clients included McAfee Inc., Cranium Inc., Microsoft Corporation, AtomFilms Inc., GoAhead Software Inc., Valve LLC and more.
PACIFIC EDGE SOFTWARE
Product Designer - Project Office 2000

Overall product design and creation of an interactive prototype for a web-based version of Pacific Edge’s existing CD-based project management software. Product design results included usability improvements such as enhanced navigation, gains in screen real estate by simplification of on-screen elements, reorganization of main menu items for clarity, more useful dialogs, and an updated look and feel intended to target a broader customer base.

Responsibilities included functionality definition & feature design with Program Management, communication with Development for implementation of a custom user interface, creation and maintenance of an internal Design web site; as well as bug fixing, dialog design, custom palette creation, and more. Product design included Money 98, Money 99, and Money 99 Home & Business Edition.
