PROJECT OFFICE 2000

Pacific Edge Software wanted to migrate their existing project management software, Project Office, from a CD to a web-based product. By working closely with the Vice President and CTO, I redesigned the Project Office user interface.

To begin the product redesign, a new grid system was proposed to form hierarchical modules on screen. Within each module, every piece can be resized, hidden or shown. This includes modeless dialogs that open in context, without taking the user's attention away from the current task.

The toolbar was given more prominence at the top of the screen; new simple iconography was created, menus were streamlined by removing redundant items and then reconfigured for enhanced ease of use. Simplification of the overall visual language was accomplished by creating a more unified set of buttons and controls.
